This artifact is my Classroom Arrangement. In order to develop this classroom arrangement I had to set the classroom up according to the areas of the development. Meaning I had to put place each area of development in the proper place in the room; such as I couldn’t set up the Block Area in the classroom next to the Reading Area because those two areas would conflict with each other. However when designing a classroom I had to think about all the al things, like where to place the water and sand table in the classrooms and the materials each development area would need to help enhance the children cognitive development. This artifact demonstrates my growth as a professional and because I was able to think out the block with the type of materials and equipment I would introduce to the children while they explore each area of development. By doing this artifact it help me realize that open-end natural materials are best to help the children enhance their imagination. And by doing this classroom arrangement artifact it helped me meet NAEYC rule standard 1.
Standard 1. Promoting Child Development and Learning
Students prepared in early childhood degree programs are grounded in child development knowledge base. They use their understanding of young children’s characteristics and needs and of the multiple interacting influences on children’s development and learning to create environments that are healthy, respectful supportive, and challenging for each child.
